The Amazing Service

I am highly and utterly disgusted in the level of service received from the Vodacom repairs in Alberton. On the 30th Dec 2016 my iPhone 5s lost network and failed to recognise any sim cards inserted in the handset.

After countless calls to Vodacom’s client care I decide to visit a Vodacom store in Alberton City that then referred me to the repair store in Alberton, New Market; as they couldn't figure it out.h

I was assisted by a gentleman named Nkateko who booked my handset in Job number:******* (Rene has this, since I didn't receive a single text on feedback), No issues with handset and all I needed was for them to sort out the network issue, nothing more. Handset booked in 03/01/2017.

On the 10/01/2017 I call in to enquire since I had not received feedback. I was told the handset is sorted. I go in to collect and find my handset is flat on collection (done on purpose, Id assume). I then leave with it, get to work and charge it for a bit to check if the network issue was resolved. I put my sim in and still it was unresolved, I attempt to charge my handset throughout the night and the next morning it didn't even switch on.

I return the handset 11/01/2017 to be booked in again Job number: ********** and I am given a loan phone that is just as much an inconvenience as their incompetence. a week passes and again i run after them enquiring about my handset. I was told it would cost me 3000+ because it “they” found a crack on the screen. Livid I request for the manager, I then speak to a guy named Rene. Rene had me run after him for the whole time until my handset was returned to the branch on the 03/02/2017 He assess the handset and says it isn't cracked.

He then books it in again 04/02/2017 Job number: ********** 1 my handset gets sent back and at this point I get a sms to inform me, no call. Then for the first time 06/02/2017 I get a call from Rene to inform me he booked my handset in, and that he will let me know the progress of the assessment.

A week later I call in to enquire, it is said i should pay 3000+ to replace the handset because this time it is water damaged.

I am paying a cellphone contract with Vodacom and didn't have a handset that I am paying for, instead I keep phoning the branch and am constantly told Rene is just stepped out or Rene is busy with a client, never enough time to call me and inform me.

I told Nkateko that this is an issue an on site technician couldn't fix and clearly their technicians cant either. The handset is in warranty and they are giving me the run around looking for reasons not to replace the ******* handset I got in the first ****** place.

I don't know how you pick your management but there is no sense of urgency, no sense on putting a client first. Its just a ****** circus thats being run over there.

This could have been resolved a lot earlier by replacing the faulty handset.
