Terrified by Vodacom service
Went to Vodacom Alberton May 5, 2024, got a double deal 2X Samsung Galaxy A35 128GB ok right I signed the contract. everything went quickly ok cool they did 'not even request the one document I thought it should have been requested since I was taking the phones on a contract (I'm a ***** victim). The following day the sales person from the very same branch texted and he asked that I bring one phone so that he can set the data to be limited, great I went back and as I was sitting there I overheard him telling his colleague that he had made a mistake about the data size or something like that and he never explained to me at that very same time. On Friday the 10th I received a contract cancellation settlement quote (emailed) I asked the sales consultant about this, and he told me he had made a mistake with the sim cards/data deal, and I should come back to get the new sim cards mind you I paid for the 2 sim cards on the day I signed the contract. Went back to the shop only to get a different story again so he gave 1 sim card and he said he made a mistake the phones that he gave me were not part of the double deal and I must take two separate contracts for the two phones, or I can bring one phone and he will put it under his name, something like that. and at some point, he called me asking that I rescan my documents as confused as I was because he should have them as I had originals on the day I don't know if he was doing a new sale/contract or what.
At that time, I'm now becoming mad because no.1. Vodacom had debited my account about two transactions +-R800 (reversed the debit order) 2. contract cancelled without my knowledge never even signed the cancellation form 3. I'm now told that I should sign two different contracts 4. Vodacom sim cards are not in use but using the phones with my old sim cards. I contacted customer care, and I was advised that I can return the phones of which I did early June.
Sad part now my name is listed as a slow payer, received a call from collection and I again explained my story so apparently, I need to pay R610. I need to understand what I am paying for exactly I never used their airtime or data. Why did I have to go through this whole process, is this how Vodacom operate or is the salesperson *********** or was I also one of his victims of his selling strategy as I have learnt that there was another lady who was once victimized. How do I go about and clearing my name because at this stage I want nothing to do with Vodacom. on the other hand, R4500 was also deducted from my husband account with Vodacom reference, in a polite way they just told him to bring an affidavit because its ***** and its normally happens. Just like that I don't want to question Vodacom's internal controls, but this is so over whelming.
