Terrible Service – Left Without Network After Failed eSIM Conversion (Vodacom Victoria Shopping Centre)
I am extremely frustrated with the service I received at the Vodacom store at Victoria Shopping Centre in Pietermaritzburg.
I visited the store to convert my contract SIM to an eSIM. The consultant assisted me and told me to go home, wait for an email, and then install the eSIM myself. However, when I attempted to activate it, it failed and displayed an error saying the eSIM could not be activated.
I then contacted Vodacom customer care, and they advised me to return to the same store for assistance.
When I went back, the same consultant who initially helped me told me there was nothing he could do because, on his system, the eSIM process was already completed. He then said the only option would be to issue a physical SIM again and restart the entire eSIM process, which would take a long time.
At that point, I was left completely stranded with no working SIM, no network access, and no immediate solution provided.
This is a CONTRACT SIM, and being left without service is completely unacceptable. I expected proper assistance and a resolution, not to be dismissed and told it’s a long process.
The lack of accountability, poor communication, and unwillingness to resolve the issue is extremely disappointing.
I would like Vodacom to urgently: - Restore my line as soon as possible - Properly assist with the eSIM activation - Address the poor service at this branch
This experience has been stressful and highly inconvenient. Customers should not be left without service due to internal process failures.
I expect this matter to be resolved urgently.
