Terrible service!!!

I sent a sony Z3 in for repairs, it came back as a complete write off due to liquid damage. They told me that it is beyond repair. I then baught a brand new one for R9450! I decided to take it to a cell phone repair shop to see if they could do annything with it. R750 later and its repaired completely with all my data still on it! Now i just wonder if vodacom just tell people phones are beyond repair so that they can make more money by having people buy new phones? This is absolutely pathetic! I have never had a good experience with vodacom and would never recommend them to annyone!!
