Terrible service

I have been a loyal Vodacom subscriber for many years now, but recently I have been experiencing endless problems with them and with customer service.

It all started when my wife and I wanted to upgrade her contract . We went to Vodacom in Watercrest Mall,Hillcrest,Durban and enquired about the upgrade. The salesman their told us my wife cannot upgrade to a phone of her choice and we also cannot upgrade yet. He did not show any interest to help us. We then decided to take out a new contract on my name for my wife so she could get the phine she wanted. But again he said we cannot do that we have to wait. So we left.

We then went to a Vodacom Chatz store in the same mall and their they immediately helped us. We got what we wanted and they even told us we can upgrade from the 1st of each month,so the previous salesman **** to us. We went back to the other store and another saleslady confirmed this for us.

Anyway we ended up taking a new contract on my name, but the next day Vodacom Chatz contacted me and notified me that they accidently activated the wrong deal,I did everything correctly, they made a mistake. They told me the contract will be cancelled, then reactivated onto the correct deal. Which they did and they were told there would be no charges involved as it is a dealer cancellation not a consumer cancellation.

A few days later I received a message my account has been softlocked. I am now unable to use any of my contracts. After endless phonecalls, I was told it is locked because my account is in arears and I owe them just under R9000 for the cancelation fee.

For the past 2 weeks everyday I have tried resolving this,as well as Vodacom Chatz. They have been extremely helpful. We spent 3 hours together on Friday. Every department at Vodacom just says they cannot help us and puts us through to another department. Then that department says the same thing until we get back to where we started and we get sent in circles again and again.

For 2 weeks now I have sat with 3 contracts that I have to pay for but am unable to use. I am approaching Cell C now as I hear they have a buy out option. I do not want to support Vodacom anymore.

Since this review I was contacted by a gentleman and my issue got resolved promptly. I am still however displeased that as a customer, I have to first get angry and upset and resort to such messures to have an issue dealt with.

But thank you for assisting me and getting it resolved.
