Terrible experience with Vodacom new computer system

I enquired with Vodacom whether I can port my husband's cell number from Cell C to Vodacom when his contract comes to an end. I was told no problem: cancel contract, change it to a pre-paid number & then the number can be ported. We followed all these steps.

On Sa****ay 04/06/16 we went to our nearest Vodacom shop. I was then told first do the port & then do the contract. At this point I need to mention I've been a Vodacom contract client since 2000 and I wanted to add this new line to my contract.

We spent an awful long time in there until the pin sent via sms eventually matched the number in the Vodacom computer. We were then told we had to wait for another sms to confirm that the port was approved. This sms only came through at 19H05 that night. We went back to Vodacom on Sunday 05/06/2016. Upon showing them that sms, we were told the port does not happen on a weekend, so it will probably be done on Monday. We purchased a new sim card, the Sales Assistant fed details into computer & told us the new phone can be collected on Tuesday 07/06/2016.

We've just come back from there and what a lousy experience that was! Apparently Vodacom has a new computer system, so my request to add a line had to be treated as a new application: Vodacom could not access my details. I see this as a huge insult - in the past 16 years I've built up a good credit record with Vodacom. The Sales Assistant did the application, called Vodacom with the reference number and was told the application was pending.

Three times now have I been in there, patiently waiting for an hour or more at a time and still no phone. I think the new computer system you have is abysmal. I am also disappointed that the store did not stock a case for the phone chosen. I find this level of Customer Care & Service disgraceful and unacceptable!
