Terrible customer service! Unpleasant dealings!
Customer service has become non existent. Recent upgrade experience was extremely unpleasant. From being unhelpful to a complete lack of concern is an understatement. It is very disappointing when you have been a Vodacom customer for over 25 years and experience such mediocre to non existent customer service. It took ages to get someone to respond, finally when they did they passed me off to another department, the person whom I have dealt with before offered one deal and refused to assist further! Passing me off to “upgrades” department. Highly disappointed as you think your business is important but clearly it’s not. So far my experiences with Vodacom have been extremely unpleasant, frustrating and lastly totally unprofessional! I also feel that Vodacom have an absolute cheek to not transfer any existing data bundles and minutes over when a customer upgrades. After all, we have paid for these bundles! They don’t see it that way and I cannot believe that they continue to get away with this? After all, renewing a contract should not mean you loose the previous bundles you have been paying for?? A once off carry over does not cost them any money! In fact it should be a courtesy to their customers renewing their contracts! It is ludicrous that this happens. When you complain about it you receive a reply “We’re sorry you feel this way and we apologize for any inconvenience caused “ Saying sorry and actually SHOWING you’re sorry are very different. Saying sorry means nothing, it’s the action of that apology that goes a long way. I did believe that Vodacom are sometimes antagonist towards me with these lazy folks emulated “apologies” Just signing another two year contract on one of my three numbers, they should be happy! Retaining a customer should be rewarded. What’s more on this latest upgrade, Vodacom FAILED hugely with communication, Ram who they use as a courier company didn’t have any contact number for me!! They were unable to call me to arrange delivery. They were also unable to make contact with me when their truck was high jacked to inform me they couldn’t deliver my device as it was ****** in the high jacking. I found out about this by calling Ram. I duly received a message from Vodacom informing me that my device was ****** and that I should make contact.... the message read “ Your Vodacom order K*** was ******, together with your personal data. We will contact you with details. Do take security measures to protect your data.” I notified Vodacom and was completely ignored, repeatedly and to date I have had no contact with regards to this message... I am ****ED off and very disappointed in how Vodacom have conducted themselves, through out this process it has been very annoying! I duly received my device, however Ram informed me that Vodacom had given them no contact number, the delivery person informed me of this. They said Vodacom did not give them a contact number. I have also asked Vodacom to please update me on my upgrade, no communication has been given with regards to that, the account looks the same. I am not sure it is even worth staying with this service provider going forward, but sadly I fear I might have to as I have heard others are no better! Sadly this is the reality we face as South Africans, customer service has become almost non existent and consumers are being treated so badly! Shame on you Vodacom, from Hero to Zero I’m afraid.
