Terrible customer service to a new customer
Good day, I am an unhappy applicant looking to join Vodacom, over the last week I have dealt with the Vodacom call center on several occasions. My unhappiness stems from the following: Promises made but not delivered on: On Saturday (06/10/2018) I did an online application and was promised that I would receive a call to confirm the application; this did not happen , reference number: ANQ3MY. On Tuesday ( 03/10/2018) I then took it upon myself to contact the call center where I spoke to (T Mahlo), he did not want to take my online application reference number, but instead advised we capture a new application. This I did, with the promise from your agent that I will have the phone delivered to me by Friday, this also did not happen. On Friday, I again called the contact center and spoke to Londi, who advised that the application was still in quote state, she also said we would capture a new application. After I insisted that this be escalated; she promised that she would send an email to escalate the order and that I should get a call by Saturday confirming my order; this also did not happen. Today (Monday 15/10/2018) I again contacted the call center and spoke to Gugu, she advised me that the escalation was not done. After asking if I could speak to someone, she called her “team leader” Thembinkosi, who firstly did not apologies for the lack of customer service shown by his department, and secondly seemed defensive of the entire situation. The “team Leader” then advised that the escalation email was actually sent out on Saturday afternoon by a Ayanda Mkhize (surprising as the agent did not see this.) Lack of urgency and customer service: The entire contact center that I engaged with seemed to not care about client service; yes, this may be because I am only taking a low end contract, but regardless, client service is client service no matter who the client is; or, what their product may be. The first consultant seemed more eager to make a sale; which he did not complete, than to assist. The second and third consultants seemed to just want to go through the motions of the call and not really resolved the problem. The “team leader” seemed more interested in telling me that this was escalated without even listening to me (listen to the call where he comes in and the first thing he tells me is that the email was sent, without even listening to me). All in all, the service I have received before even being signed onto your network has been nothing but poor. As someone who works in the client services space, I know what service is, I know that there are instances where errors happen, and I know that the client is meant to be put first and kept in the loop; especially if they had been promised something that has not been delivered.
