Terrible customer service
I currently have 2 Vodacom contracts, a RedPremium 083... ( sim only) and a phone package with R210 airtime 064... In March 2019, I went to the Vodacom4u shop in Secunda mall, and requested that my package at the time ( smart s+) be migrated to the RedPremium that I am on currently. I still had 3 months to go, before being due for an upgrade on this contract, and I therefore had to do a migration. Whilst I was there I asked that my current package for my wireless router, be cancelled. The contract was over at the time. They assured me this would be done. whilst I was there, I was not attended to by a dedicated service personnel. Jemilla, Lazarus and Mohammed helped me. when being served, I did not receive dedicated service, Jemilla would be talking on the phone, and addressing other customer needs. the same can be said for the other 2. My request started off with Jemilla, after sitting in the shop for about 2 hours, she handed my documents over to Mohammed, and then Lazarus started assisting as well, even though he was busy with another client. The sales personnel also talk constantly to each other, about random client queries, which has nothing to do with my query. Maybe if they paid more attention to the client at hand, these type of errors will be prevented in future. My 3G data card package was not cancelled. a few months later I realised I was still being billed and had to call the Vodacom call centre to have this cancelled myself. My number was migrated. I was asked to sign the contract which I did. it was a hard copy. Then I was asked to sign on the electronic device, for not taking insurance. I was asked to pay R149, which I did. In September, I went to the store to do a proper upgrade on my phone, I opted for the Red package, but the one with the 800 minutes. I paid the R149 again. Whilst I was there, I requested that my 064 package now be upgraded. this package is for my nephew. Jemilla then told me that I upgraded this package already in March, when I did my migration on my 083 number. I did not authorise this, and I made that clear. She agreed with me verbally, and I told her that I would not upgrade a package that I already upgraded. after another extremely long session there at Vodacom( tending to other queries simultaneously), she said she will get back to me, and didn't. I went back a week later and complained, and I had to start my story to her all over again. then she showed me my signature on the contract for the 064 number and said I authorised it, and said there is nothing she can do. She called Lazarus, both of them remembered my migration, but all they could say for the 064 contract was that I signed. I mentioned ethics to them. again, Jemilla said she will get back to me. I had issues with my 083 number, it went back to prepaid, and I still did not receive any calls from her. I went to the store, only to find out that the store was closed for a revamp for the whole of October. I therefore had to rectify this personal with the Vodacom call centre. Regarding the 064 number, I was advised to back to the store. I had to wait a month. when my calendar allowed, I returned there, and approached Jemilla again. She referred me to Busi, who pulled the documents. My acceptance of the 083 migration was very clear, and on the same page. My acceptance on the so-called insurance waiver was on a stand alone page, this was signed electronically, it had a small code on top. another page had this code on top as well. on this page, which did not contain my signature, included the quote for the 064 number, which I apparently then approved. when dealing with service personnel, and they ask you to electronically sign, to waiver insurance, I have not previously, had any reason to refuse or distrust the consultant. in this case, I was told by Busi, that I must learn to read the fine print, and that I should have seen the codes on the top of the 2 pages matching. how would I have seen that if I only signed on the signing pad. she further said that I should have known better when asked to pay the R149, that a migration doesn't require this. How would I know this? this is not my field of expertise, I completely trusted the consultants, and paid. I requested that this package be reversed, and my R149 returned, but I still had the intention of upgrading the 64 number to package of my choice, hence I waivered the refund. what really infuriated me, was, instead of addressing the lack of integrity of her staff, she tells me that I must speak to my nephew about ethics. why didn't he approach me and tell me he was seeing more data. he was dishonest, she said that should be my concern. nevertheless, she personally promised that she will rectify this for me. A week later, was Black Friday, and I was looking forward to the deals. I wanted to get a much better package for my nephew. Only to my disgust, to find out that my 083 contract was reversed ( back to the expensive Red Premium unlimited) and my 064 contract still unchanged. Now I am sitting with 2 contracts that I have not requested, which I am stuck with for the next 2 years. I messaged Busi, she did not reply. She did , however, call some time later in the day. Unfortunately, I was in a meeting and couldn't take the call. And she left it at that. NO effort in resolving the issues, she was fully aware of, nor calling again. I am most dissatisfied with the level of service at this store, and have been more than just patient over the last few months with them. I will not take any more of my business there again.
