07 Aug 2020, 11:11 Hi
I have an issue with Vodacom
I requested fibre to be installed a few months back. The first time I app**** for fibre the consultant messed up the application and I was told I didn’t send in the correct paperwork. I had to go back to my emails and resend the emails to the consultant to prove that i have sent the correct paperwork and the consultant acknowledged the correct paperwork. I was requested to do a new application as it was almost a month later. I didn’t react straight away because I was told to wait for installation departments’ call. It was when my previous service providers contract was coming to an end I had to follow up with Vodacom only to find out the blunder with my application. Due to this mess up I was without internet for a few days and this affected my work as I was working from home at the time. I was advised to apply for the interim LTE router, which never arrived up to today.
Upon the installation being done, I also experienced issues. I contacted Vodacom and nothing has been done since. The installer did a very untidy job. They were in a huge hurry that day. The conduit was too small to fit the cables. I complained and was told that this is what Vodacom supplies them with and there is nothing he can do about the size of the conduit. The next day I called the installer to come back and neaten the conduit at certain places. He said he will. 2weeks later he said he will come but he has to charge me. How can he charge me for something he didn’t do properly the first time around? The fact that I can show an installer from Vodacom a better and neater way to install a conduit, this speaks volumes about the calibre of the service we as customers are receiving. Does this speak loudly about the service we get from Vodacom?
I never received to LTE interim router, good service or helpful response from Vodacom in the Secunda area.
My advice to any one that wants to install Vodacom fibre in Secunda is to not do it through Vodacom due to poor service and network. My network switches on and off a lot.
I’m hoping Vodacom improves on their services being installers, consultants and network.
