Terrible assistance from vodacom call centre 111 - Aya and Tumi from prepaid department
I have been a vodacom client for the past 10 years and today i received the worst service ever when i called to get assistance. I convinced my husband to switch over to vodacom because i told him how good the service is. He has a problem concerning lost data. He bought 1G data and on the 19th of April 2016 and yesterday realized that it is finished. He never even used his phone that much and a 1G data usually lasts him atleast 3 weeks. The first time he bought data it lasted 3 weeks, this time it only lasted 2 days. We called the 111 line for assistance and first Aya said that there is nothing that vodacom can do because the system shows that he used that data and that apps are running in the background. I told her thats not the case but she insisted that it is. I then told her that I had a similar problem in the past and they had to redirect my call to the department who investigates the data usage issue. She then told me that its not true and that she can see the usage right in front of her, and it shows all the apps that is taking data. I insisted that she tell me which apps it is as she can see and she refused to give me that information. She rather hung up the call while i was talking. That is extremely unprofessional. I then called back and this time spoke to Tumi. She told me to go to settings and to look for data usage. I did that and told her that, that option is not on the phone. She also refused to assist me and rather told me to go to a vodacom store for assistance. I told her that this has never happened in the past and that the call centre should assist me, as they did the last time. she blatantly refused. I told her that I know that the vodacom shop will not be able to assist me and they will simply call the call centre. She told me thats not true and they will assist me. I further told her also about the department that deals with data investigation and she told me that, that department does not exist, and never existed. When we went to the vodacom shop, the guy looked at my husbands phone and noticed that all the apps are set in such a way that they do not update automatically, and the sync is also off, hence he does not know why my husbands data is depleting so quickly. He noted that there are no apps running in the background, as its always turned off. He then said that we needed to call the call centre for assistance as they should assist us. I need urgent assistance as data is very expensive and my husband cannot be spending 1GB every 2nd day when he is not even using his phone that much. I would appreciate it if his 1GB data could be refunded, and the problem solved to ensure that this does not happen in future again. The staff at the vodacom call centre proved to be very unprofessional and of no assistance to me. They need to be dealt with and trained properly.
