I have a Red advantage Vodacom contract and have had my Samsung S6 for less than 1 year. As modern phones do this one broke. The device kept freezing and resetting itself up to 25 times a day. I took the device into Vodacare Gateway in Umhlanga and I was initially blown away by the excellent service I recieved. The technical team repaired my phone on the same day, some 8 hours later. The solution to the problem according to the service advisor was a mother board replacement. Unfortunately the light sensing sensor was not replaced due to no stock. Having no light sensor just means that the screen turns itself off during calls and SMS writing. I was told to bring the device in the next week for repairs to such sensor. I comp**** with the request and took my device in a second time for the repair. I did receive a loan phone which was flat so I am not sure what use that is as an emergency cell phone on the way home but grateful non the less for the device. The technician later called to say that the problem was no fixable here in Ballito as the sensor was not the issue and that they now wanted to replace the motherboard again. So from being told one thing was wrong it was now something completely new and needed to be sent to the advanced repair in Gauteng. Why was there discrepancies in the diagnosis? So far although frustrating not so bad, yet. The phone arrived at advanced repair was assessed and "repaired" and taken through a "quality control" only to arrive back in Durban a few days later with exactly the same fault. The phone has now been re dispatched again to advanced repair. What exactly did advanced repair quality check? This whole event started on the 24/06/2016 it is now the 13/07/2016 and the phone is still not fixed as promised by Vodacare Gateway within a few days and later within 7 days. I have been dealing with the Manager of the Gateway store who's name is Malcolm. He was initially very helpful in getting my phone repair done within the same day but has hence been buying time. Malcolm does not respond to my messages I leave on his voicemail or via the Vodacare shops number. Malcolm does not respon to SMS either. The phone is clearly broken to the point where it is not fixable . I pay a lot of money for my red advantage package I use my S6 as a business tool and I am stuck now for over 2 weeks with no result. I actually moved to Vodacom from MTN because MTN has a signal from the Stone Age and zero customer service. Vodacom are you the same? Are you as useless? This is not what I have grown to expect from you! Sort this out today! Malcolm do not ignore me that is not the way to handle this as a manager.
