Talked into taking inappropriate contract
I was called about a month ago by a sales lady from Vodacom who advised that she had analysed my contracts and strongly advised that she could reduce my overall monthly costs by taking a new Wifi router contract. I said I already had a Wifi router but she went on about how my costs would be reduced, and asked me why I would not want that. She almost imp**** that I would be stupid not to take it. I eventually agreed, though still had doubts about it. At the end of the conversation, as I had to leave, she said I would be contacted again to accept the terms and conditions. I was never called again, and thus have not accepted them.
I then received the Wifi router, but could not connect to the internet. I subsequently called Vodacom to query this, and was advised that the package they had sold me was for 2MB data, 200 SMS's and 75 minutes of talk time! Who, or how can one use a Wifi router for sms's and talking?
It is completely inappropriate for me, and I believe that this is a case of misrepresentation and Vodacom just trying to get a new contract without any real consideration of the customer. The sales person clearly misrepresented what was being sold.
