Taking money for service not rendered

In March 2017 I contacted the vodacom call centre to obtain my cancellation dates. I was advised that I could cancel my contract on the 15th of March.

During the same month vodacom contacted me to offer me a deal for R199 for 5g on peak and 5g off peak. I accepted the deal as I knew I could cancel the other two contracts. in a few days. When I contacted vodacom on the 15th March to Cancel my existing contracts I was told that I could only cancel in May 2017. I cancelled my application for the deal and returned the device. I contacted Vodacom on the 20th of March to cancel my application and request for the device to be collected, I was advised by Naomi to contact the activations department three days after the device has been collected to process the cancellation and refund as vodacom deducted R109 from my account. Once the device was collected on the 27th March I contacted vodacom on the 30th March to process my cancellation. I was advised by Daphne that my debit order will be refunded in 7 days and that she proccessed my cancellation. On the 10th of April I called the Vodacom contact centre to enquire about the status of my cancellation and refund, I spoke to Refilwe who advised that the contract is not cancelled and that shhe would process it and the refund could take 20 to 30 days.

In April vodacom deducted the additional R199 from my account even though I requested for the contract to be cancelled.

at this piont I asked my husband to take over as I could no longer handle the incompetence of Vodacom staff.

This is my husbands experience:

25/04/2017 – Called and spoke to Farhanaaz, she advised she can see that the device was returned but the cancellation was not put through, she put through the cancellation of the contract and the request to refund the debit orders. She called back in the afternoon and confirmed that the request has been put through and the turnaround time is 7 to 14 days. Call *** Ref for refund: 1- ********** **********

15/05/2017 @ 08:20 – Called 082 111, selected option 4 for cancellations, spoke to Zizipho, she advised that a follow up needs to be done on the service request as she can see that one has been put through but not finalised, she put me through to the Solutions department.

15/05/2017 @ 08:34 – Spoke to Amanda, she advised that I need to speak to Cancellations to confirm if they have cancelled the number.

15/05/2017 @ 08:50 – Spoke to Thabo who advised he needed to do another security check, I told him that we can’t do 3 security checks in 30 mins, and my wife is at work and has better things to do than verify herself 3 times in 30 mins.

Vodacom intends on taking a third payment for a contract and device I have not made use of and returned.

I no longer want to be a client of vodacom, this is not treating me as a customer fairly.

Vodacom please refund my money that you took even though I did not take up the deal and cancelled it as soon as I learnt you gave me the incorrect information.

Vodacom please train your staff on your products as well as client service as some of them had the biggest attitude problems.

Still no feedback received from Vodacom.
I have logged a complaint on the 18/05/2017 and have still not received any feedback from Vodacom.
Another debit order went off my account so now its a total of than R500 that has been taken from me for a device and data that I do not have.
I have now cancelled my all my contracts with vodacom because of this putride treatment.
Vodacom please give back the money.
