Systematic spreading of Evil and Lies by Mondo - Mandated by Vodacom
I am reconstructing this from memory as best I can. Minor details should be confirmed with sales companies – which I cannot do since I’m not going to obtain a subpoena.
I have been contacted last year by Mondo Mobile on behalf of Vodacom (I had extreme difficulty figuring this out since no-one was forthcoming with this information).
I was contacted and offered a deal that was simply too good to be true – my bill would reduce to R 300 from a R 800+ that I’m currently paying (according to the sales agent). I confirmed this multiple times telephonically, asking whether this call is recorded and whether I’ll be able to verify this at a later stage if my bill has indeed not decreased to the indicated amount.
Currently my bill has not dropped by the stated amount and I’ve been trying to get a hold of the sales call to confirm what has been promised to me. Vodacom / Mondo has indicated that this will only be released when a subpoena is obtained – which is ridiculous. I demand the full call (that spans over multiple days) to confirm the full deal that was promised to me – not merely the closing of the call in which some nonsense wording was read to me. The call constitutes the ENTIRETY of the contract.
I’ve read numerous complaints about Mondo on the web and it seems as if they are systematically de*****ing / infuriating / frustrating a large portion of the population from the Durban based call centre. They are indeed giving telesales an extremely bad name. They are placing unsupervised, delinquents on the phone and equipping them with a ******’s artillery of promise the moon and the stars objection handling without any concern or interest in the customers that they are supposed to serve on behalf of VODACOM! But I guess while the gravy train is rolling and expenses both parties will turn a blind eye towards this sort of systematic evil.
I’ve logged this query multiple times with Mondo as well as Vodacom and all that I’ve managed to get is excuses and the phone being put down in my ear – that is when they actually do pick up the phone.
I’ve tried cancelling this thing multiple times (well within my cool-off period rights under the CPA), but these have been ignored and all that I receive is a quotation (that NOBODY at Vodacom can even explain to me how its calculated and what is being taken into account; the stupid person generating the quote can’t even open the file on their machine from which they generated it).
My demands are simple, unambiguous and actionable: • I demand to be released from this ******* upgrade at NO cost to me • I demand that the CEO of Mondo Mobile be jailed along with the agent selling me lies • I demand that Mondo Mobile be closed down and proceeds from liquidation be put in trust to fight systematic spreading and selling of lies
