System this system that = poor customer service.
So after having trouble with my laptop and needed to replace it as it was giving me trouble. I assessed my situation and because there is a wedding a round the corner spare cash is not a luxury at this stage, so I decided against my will to pursue the option of acquiring a laptop via the business with Vodacom. Given the urgency of the matter I thought that Vodacom would be able to assist with a Laptop. So on 2 August 2022 I phoned in to Vodacom business services. ***. I spoke with a lady named Magdalene Lutchmina. Who really tried to help me, but the rest of the team let her down in my opinion. She could not service me with the required information as one would expect her to be able to do. She explained what was needed to proceed. Then I would get letter done as required, having to also go through an internal approval process. Then only to find out the deal is not available anymore. Now we have to start the process again. However the ability to information available is almost non-existant. I have then redo my research on the computers to try again. Then try to get information on specs on laptops where there is no info on the vodacom website. And when I ask a question about the product in order to get clarity they will get back you, but never do and so you call them back. Then a new consultant answers and sends a message to call back, sometimes they do but most of the time they don't. So I got to know Alexis, Amanda and the other in the department quite well. At one stage I even spoke with Amanda the manager of the department. Although Amanda tried to help resolve the problem attempts to get hold of her was ignored later on. You see the reason for my chat with Amanda was to clarify why Vodacom would block my number if I was trying to give them business. To this day the call centre has block my personal number to prevent me from communicating as required. When I confronted Amanda with this information she seems highly surprised that this would happen and she said that she would have IT rectify the problem. So Amanda then did assist with getting the laptop Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 Ryzen 5 deal secured. I said the deal sound correct if they could just send me the specifications on that then I would confirm the deal. That was Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. By midday on Friday I still had to phone in numourous times to request the spec sheet. Eventually they send during the Friday afternoon. I immediatly approve the deal and tell them go ahead and please advise shipping details. Again I have to follow up for this eventually late monday we get tracking details. and a swift delivery was made by Ram Couriers by Wednesday, Which is great considering the Tuesday was womens day.
Once I opened the box I reallised that the Laptop they sent me was wrong. The Lenovo received was an i5 10300H with 8GB of ram GTX 1650 while the info received from Vodacom was a Ryzen 5 5600H with 16GB of ram 3050 Nvidia graphics. So then I contacted Vodacom from the landline again as my personal number is still blocked and something that Amanda would urgently rectify, still not addressed. They tell me that according to them the same laptop spec was issued. Which I tried to explain is not the case. Magdalene happened to answer the phone again and explained that they would arrange for the laptop to be collected, but to issue a replacement could take 7 - 14 working days. Not too sure how they expect me to work without a laptop in the accountancy space without a laptop for so long. So I made a plea with them to please advise me with a solution. And thats where I am at the moment. Desprate to work but it does not seem like the systems are in place at Vodacom can accomodate for service delivery when they drop the ball. Current ETA on a new deal is still pending at this moment. Our business have been doing multiple deals with Vodacom since 1998. Thats 24 years of loyalty. Will be intresting to see how Vodacom will respond lets see what happens next.
Email from Magdalene.
I advise to wait for the spesifications before sending out delivery.

For the first time since dealing with Vodacom on 2 Aug 2022 did I receive an acknowledgement of receipt.
Still awaiting a call back from Amanda from yesterday regarding the blocking of my phone number. Something that would have been addressed last week already.
Just wondering why a spesifications sheet for a laptop would not be readily available.... Something that I would suggest Vodacom have a look at.

Will now wait for tracking details and delivery eta. 3 and a half hours to wait for a spec sheet. In the age of collaborative systems that is a serious systems flaw.

Also, after day 13 the consultant was still not understanding what kind of laptop I required because they either do not listen or do not make notes or do not do due dilligence when listening to the customers request. On numorous occations I explained exactly why I am looking for a gaming spec laptop then on day 13 I still get reccomendations of celeron laptops.
Also, I had to do all the follow up work to ensure that there is momentum to the process. Initially waited for the normal process to take its course, but then after a week when you are back to square one because the turn around time on information is so slow that by the time the information is available there is no longer any stock available on the item.
Also, it now day 9 of the incorrect laptop being delivered. I still to this day have not received any confirmation of cancellation, or any information of the collection of the laptop.
Als your HelloPeter replies are very generic and focused on putting up a pretty face. The first comment is the generic comment that everyone receives. I received a phone call the next day from Alexis who made empty promises on things that would happen that never did. Also I suspect the second generic reply would probaly also not have happened had I not requested feedback.
It just feels like that at Vodacom they are more intrested in proving that a conversation took place, than to actually listening to what the customer needs. With an MOI like that you will never really achieve customer satisfaction.
From start to finish this was really a terrible customer experience, the reason why I am taking trouble in detailing the obstacles is I really get the impression that the people that I have been in contact with do not understand the issues that they are dealing with. Also it does not seem that the system allows them to get things done when they want to try to resolve the issue.
The result is you feel steamrolled as a customer.
Hoping to resolve the inconveniece caused peacefully.
Looking forward to hear from Vodacom about solutions to the problems caused.
