I have a contract with Vodacom. My contract is that I am getting 5Gig data per month. Most of the months, even last year December whilst sending an enormous amount of Whats App messages, pictures and videos over Christmas and New Year, I didn't even consume the whole 5Gig. Approximately 1Gig was left at the end of December which was transferred to January 2020. Suddenly last month my data was finish at the 25th of the month. I added another 2Gig which was finish before the end of the month. I phoned Vodacom and they said to me that there was a problem and refund me with 1Gig. This month is even worst!!! Today is the 16th of April, and even though it is lock down, I am at the office every single day, which means I am not even spending half of the time that I have spent in December on my phone. This morning I received an sms from Vodacom telling me that I only have 164mb left on my phone for the month!!! I phone Vodacom again, and spoke to Thandeka. She said to me that I must remember that the speed of the internet is much faster than it was in December!!!! The speed of the internet is actually slower, which means it still doesn't make sense that my data consumption is so high. She couldn't give me a straight answer why my data consumption is so high. She gave the the stupid option to delete Whats App and then check my consumption, which doesn't make sense at all, because if I have to re-install Whats App, it will take another extra lot of data. I even told her that I went onto Whats App settings to lower my data usage used in a call. My question stays, why suddenly for the last 2 months? I remember about 3 months ago the Government spread it over the news that Vodacom have to lower their costs, because they are the most expensive network in the world!!! Instead of that, they even higher the costs!! Every time when they have these "special offers" that people can "win" some data, I as a consumer is actually paying for the "free gifts" they are giving away to the people. It is totally impossible that I use more data, whilst at work all day, as in December when it was actually pick time! Vodacom therefore leave me no other choice than to end my contract in January, when it comes to an end, and rather go over the MTN, as their costs are totally ridicules!!!
Can somebody please look into this and report back to me? My phone number is ***. It will be highly appreciated
