Struggling to cancel contract of deceased person

<p>My father passed away in July this year, and we are STILL struggling to cancel his cellphone contract.</p> <p>After a ridiculous amount of phone calls to the legal department, where we were transferred from one operator to the other, we finally managed to get a list of documents we needed to send through in order for the contract to be cancelled. These documents were then emailed to the legal department over a month ago. </p> <p> </p> <p>After being on hold for 45 minutes to follow up (one month later) whether the contract was cancelled, we were advised that it was still active!</p> <p> </p> <p>Following up 10 days later, and being transferred between 6 different agents , no surprise - THE CONTRACT IS STILL ACTIVE!!! Not only is the contract still active, the last debit order that went off suddenly contained data charges with a total invoiced amount 5 times the monthly subscription fee. Funny, seeing that the phone has not been used since July. </p> <p> </p> <p>Dear Vodacom, this is the worst service ever. It is unacceptable that after someone has already gone through the pain of losing a loved one, they still need to go through so much trouble as well. What happend to customer service?</p>
