Stroppy attitude with pathetic service
14th April 2022, I visited Vodacom Blue Route Mall Tokai to take my cellphone in for repairs, as I accidentally dropped the phone and damaged the screen. The cellphone was however insured and after communicating with Vodacom Insurance, I was told to take the device to the nearest Vodacom outlet, where they would assess it and take it from there. However, this was a business contract, and I took the liberty to get a letter head from my employer stating that im employed at Builders Warehouse Constantiaberg and I also brought along my payslip and ID document, as I was paying for the device through the company and I was held liable for the device. To my surprise this sales person, think his name was Ismail, said that those documents were irrelevant and that I should get a letter from my employer giving Vodacom permission to repair the device. This made no sense to me, as its a Vodacom contract, with Vodacom insurance and Im paying for the device as well as being held responsible for it, as im using it. While instore, I phoned Vodacom Insurance to explain the situation, and they said its not necessary for the letter giving Vodacom permission to fix the device. This idiot of a salesman was persistent and came across very stroppy. Even when I entered the store I received pathetic service as I waited nearly 20 mins before being attended to. I decided to leave the store and lodge a complaint with Vodacom Customer Care. Its really sad to see the level of customer service being given to consumers lately.
