Stop allocating my number to new clients!

I have had my phone number for many years. I migrated from being on a Vodacom contract to Virgin Mobile pay-as-you-go, to MTN pay-as-you-go over the years.

The problem I have is that Vodacom keeps giving my number to new contract customers.

I know when they have given the number out again, as I get a sudden influx of people phoning me, and I block them as they call. Then I get messages to say my account has not been paid and that my service will be suspended, which I have learnt to ignore, as it does not affect my service at all. The calls from strangers die down, and a few weeks later the cycle starts all over again. Sometimes I receive a phone call from the newest recipient of my number, and I have to explain to them it has been my number for many years, and they expect me to do something about it.

I have been to speak to people in Vodacom offices over the years, where they end up arguing with me. They say it cannot possibly be my number as the system says otherwise. I ask them to phone the number and my phone rings, and then they tell me they can do nothing about it.

Could someone in Vodacom please rectify this and remove my number from the allocation system? If it were not my business number I would have changed it long ago, but I can't afford to lose all my clients.

Please notify me when this has been corrected.

There is nothing they need to contact me about. I am not a Vodacom client, and I may have blocked their number over the years. You need to remove my number from your system. Plain and simple.

You have not listened, nor responded appropriately to my concern

This number is MY number, migrated from Vodacom to pay-as-you-go many years ago, to Virgin Active, and now to MTN... but you are still allocating this number to new Vodacom clients.

I have a message AGAIN today from Vodacom telling me payment of R1030.20 is required for my services to remain connected at Vodacom. Obviously the client is not receiving calls, as it is my number, and I block callers when they call and they are looking for the new person who has been allocated this number. He has stopped paying. It happens every 2 months or so. He is not able to use the number.

So, despite what I say (and this is my business number so I am not giving it up) you will just allocate it again to the next unsuspecting Vodacom client.

I have blocked Vodacom numbers as they keep phoning and asking for payment. I unblocked their number this afternoon, so I will humour a person in a managerial position who is able to resolve this one last time. Please call me.

You should have removed this number from your system years ago - there have been enough complaints, but obviously customer service is unimportant to Vodacom.

Today is 2 days since I wrote my previous message. I have had NO RESPONSE.

Yesterday I received a threatening message from Vodacom that my account would be suspended. I HAVE NO ACCOUNT WITH VODACOM!

Today I received another message that I needed to pay or my account would be suspended. I HAVE NO ACCOUNT WITH VODACOM!

I receive numerous calls each time you reallocate my number to new clients, and answer and block calls from strangers all the time.

THIS IS MY MTN PAY-AS-YOU-GO number.

Remove it from your system! Stop allocating it to new contracts!
