Still fibreless

Dear Vodacom,

I have recently moved into a complex in Bryanston where you are the sole fibre provide - great job on getting the monopoly. On the 30th of October, I logged an application to get fibre for my flat and received confirmation that a technician would contact me within 20 business days to arrange the installation. Not a great turnaround time but I understand you are exceptionally busy overcharging people for mobile data and would hate your fibre offering to impact that.

After the 20 business days had passed without any communication from Vodacom, I began phoning the Vodacom fibre call centre daily to enquire as to what the delay was. Each time I have been assured that my query has been escalated and someone would get in touch with me. After multiple calls the excuses started. The first excuse I received was that the technicians were very busy and someone would get in touch with me the following day. After another few days had passed, I phoned in again to be told the package I had app**** for was not actually supported in my complex and the consultant would correct this and get a technician to get in touch with me on that same day. Apparently, this was as a result of an issue with your website? I am guessing you are also still waiting for Vodacom fibre? Once again, no one for Vodacom called me to arrange the installation or provide any form of feedback.

The next time I phoned in, I was told the previous tenants still had an active account with the previous fibre provider to the complex which was delaying my application. They had cancelled their account in August when they heard Vodacom was taking over the fibre. What smart people they were.

The next time I phoned in I asked to speak to the supervisor of the consultant who was taking me on this wild fibre hunt but was informed that she was in a meeting and I could expect a call after she was out. Again, my call was not returned. Is she still in the meeting? If so, please let her out.

The next time I called I requested to speak to any supervisor. I was lucky enough to catch one of them who wasn’t rattling off excuse 1 through 7 to another fibreless customer who said she would investigate and phone me back on the same day. In keeping with your superior client service, she never called back. Each time I have phoned in, I have been assured my query has been escalated. Based on the number of times this query has been escalated, I am assuming it is with the CEO? If so, please ask him to make my installation a priory and what his view on Bitcoin is? I am considering having a dabble.

This is undoubtedly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have been a Vodacom mobile customer for some 15 years and their inefficacy and lack of customer service pales in comparison to yours.

Please can I get some fibre so I can stop trying to break my neighbours WIFI password and hopefully never deal with your call centre again?
