STILL AWAITING CANCELLATION AND REFUND THAT I AM DUE

I am still awaiting resolution with the required cancellation and refund of a contract I had not agreed to. This process was initiated in 2016, but has taken many calls and diversions, without success to date. There is always a promise that I will be contacted, but this does not occur.

After further calls, I finally received a response on 20 March 2017 that confirmed my query is valid and that on the sales call the agent **** in response to my questions about there being no additional costs. I was told by the agent that I will be receiving additional data on my current contract, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST, with a free router, as Vodacom has become aware of customer unhappiness due to data costs. However, INSTEAD, a new contract was initiated without my knowledge, and I was suddenly being debited an additional R199 a month, which I had not agreed to.

When my query was deemed valid I was asked what I wish to do with the contract. I advised that it should be cancelled with full refund, as I had not agreed to a new contract or any additional costs. After being assured that this has been initiated (20 March 2017), I am STILL being debited every month and I still await the cancellation and my refund.

I have been a loyal customer for decades , but this is unacceptible practice. Vodacom is well aware of this scheme, as other customers have suffered my EXACT fate, as reported here: https://mybroadband.co.za/news/cellular/180704-dont-fall-for-free-router-and-cheaper-mobile-contract-telesales-promises.html

This matter requires urgent address and resolution, or it will require escalation to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa.
