Stay clear of Vodacom - cheaper rates at other (better) providers

Vodacom you really need to train your call centre staff. My issues started with trying to get my debit order details changed. After 3 - 4 calls and emails guess what nothing, i resorted to paying via EFT. Then my wifes phone stopped working in December. It couldnt make or recieve calls. Tried Vodacoms website, guess what that didnt work either. Logged a call about both and got feedback saying it was resolved after it was escalated. And NO it was not. Called Vodacom in January as i wanted to cancel and port my number to a different provider. There was some ***** up with my account and i had to pay R270 which i did and after 5 calls to different departments it was evidently resolved. Guess what NO it was NOT. The phone could still not make or recieve calls. Called again this time I actually had a very helpful agent who actually offered to call me back when he had resolved the issue. (Ref number) I asked him to move my account to prepaid so that I could port the number. He told me it would be done by the 1st of Feb and that was that. 1st of Feb came around and guess what NOTHING. Still the phone could not recieve or make calls. I was now paying for a service from another provider too who I was not able to use. Cue many many calls to the call centre. Many promises and gaurentees which all turned out to be just air. Down to my last call 2 days ago (march) only to be told my account is now suspended due to non payment, which confused me because A. The phone hasnt even been on the Vodacom network why must i pay for a service i HAVE NOT GOTTEN? B. I was told in January the contract was over and it would be migrated to PrePaid. And the attitude of the team leader Mphali was atrocious and actually prompted me to move our business contracts away from Vodacom. Everytime i mentioned to her to listen to the recording of all the calls i have made in the past and to take the reference numbers she just kept on being unhelpful and regurgetating a standard response. So here I am 3 months in, phone is still not connecting, i am told i need to pay Vodacom for this and I am paying another provider for my personal contract i cannot use while i look at moving our business accounts to them too. Vodacom clearly do not care and are happy to generate income for themselves by not providing a service to their clients!

6 days have gone by and still nothing. I think the above reply from Vodacom is just automated. A canned response showing everyone just how much Vodacom cares about its clients. Again everyone stay away from Vodacom.
