STAY AWAY FROM VODACOM

Durin May 2018 I contacted Vodacom to cancel a contract and put that number on a pay-as-you-go (prepaid) account. The operator said I should rather downgrade to a lower contract that would cost me R40 per month, after NOT giving it much thought (first mistake) I agreed.

Fast forward to January 2020, I tried to use that phone for the first time and get the message that I have no credits and must add to my bundle. I go to the Vodacom store and find out that the account has been handed over to legal for no payment, keep in mind here that I was always on direct debit.

I later find out that the Vodacom operator created a completely new account and made the payment method CASH and never informed me. So all this time I assume it is being paid for and it is not. I look at my credit report and they have reported all those "late" payments.

They refuse to take responsibility or reverse the reporting on my cresit report
