Stay away from vodacom

Vodacom Knysna is a waste of time they hand you a ticket but help the next person that walks up to their desk.

I first came in to upgrade (I was told I was overdue) and after a chat my phone was on order (apparently they don’t keep stock of the phones they offer)

I went in later the next week to upgrade But after Waiting for a while to be helped I was told that it would take 40 mins to upgrade so I left as it was during work hours but I was told that my phone would be put aside and I could come in that Saturday.

Saturday morning I was there right after they opened, I was told that there was no phone set aside for me so I would have to come the following Saturday.

I came in during the next week as I was going past, waited a while with my useless ticket number just to make sure a phone had been ordered, it wasn’t- But we ordered it, I was told that the contract would cost more then the booklet had mentioned as I’d like top up and caller ID. Surprise hidden costs? My favorite

I was then called and told my phone was ready.

I once again went in waited more 30 minutes with my at this point pathetic ticket number, but as soon I was helped after all the other people that walked in I was told that my contract would cost another almost two hundred bucks more ( as a “fine” ) for the following 4 months as I am not yet due to upgrade

At this point I am looking at a bunch of time wasted, plenty visits and a cellphone contract offered to me for 800 bucks a month for an outdated phone.

The worst part is that it was a similar story to get to the phone that I have now. There is ALWAYS hidden costs, plenty visits and all kinds of “fines” but no one has to answer for their short comings. I have been a vodacom customer for plenty years and never missed a payment of 100s of Rands a month.

Where is the honest business? Good service, get what you pay for and without hidden costs and surprise fines?

I will not be signing a contract with vodacom again.
