Sony Experia Heating UP SOOOOO BADLY, Vodacom refusing to assist

Hello Peter

I purchased a Sony Experia Z5 from your Vodacom store Pavilion on 18 April 2016, a week ago the phone starting overheating. I visited the Pavilion store on 11 May to inform the store manager Ahmed that my device is overheating so badly that i cannot use it, or even put it to my ear to make a call, I proved to him that the device is heating up, and he felt the phone admitting it has a problem, and just smiled,he was of no help and referred me to the Gateway branch saying its out of the 7 day return period. I cannot pay for a device i cannot use....the device gets so hot you cant even hold it, my 3 year old boy got burnt just holding the phone, Vodacom Call Centre will not help< i've tried calling to expedite this matter and still no joy, Ahmed, the store manager admitts after calling an agent @ Sony that there is a HEATING up problem with this phone, he says he was unaware of this before hand, hence admitting he will sell a defective handset because he is unaware of its defects, I as the consumer state as part of the CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT that if an ITEM is purchased that it defective, i should have the RIGHT to return the PRODUCT since i am paying for the installment monthly...........Please help!!!!! I am highly frustrated with Vodacom's lack of SERVICE, .....selling HANDSETS that are FAULTY is ***** to the CUSTOMER, i do not want this phone and would like to Cancel my CONTRACT on the WHOLE, MTN has much better Customer Service than Vodacom.
