Someone at Vodacom Messed up!!!
When I originally wanted to cancel my contract I was told that I needed to pay an amount that was over R1000. I then took my simcard out of my phone and destroyed it, but I continued to pay my account for many months. After that I phoned Vodacom and asked what the status was on the account so I could finalise and cancel it. I was then told the same thing, I needed to pay an amount exceeding R1000 to settle the account. Now understand my frustration because I have been paying for many months for a phone account that I wasn't using and the amount didn't go down. I then took it to Hello Peter and only then did the accountants realize that they made a mistake. They then informed me that I only needed to pay R154 in order to terminate the contract. I then paid the amount and then contacted vodacom again and asked them to terminate, but they said the account was still stuck in pre-legal status and needed to be changed to active status before they could do so. Then after 2 weeks of phoning vodacom every day to ask if the status was changed and every time I got the same answer that the status was unchanged, I took it to Hello Peter again. There I was informed that they rectified the status and terminated the contract as per my request. (See attached image) That was on the 19th of February, 2017. So, why after 7 months without hearing a peep from Vodacom, am I being harassed over this again? An account statement was mailed to me by Vodacom to confirm the amount of R154 I had to pay after a telephonic conversation in order to terminate the contract, which I did pay.
Why haven't I received a paid up letter yet? And don't tell me because the account was never closed because according to William Sikhosana from Hammond Pole Attorneys informed me that vodacom has handed my account over to them for the outstanding amount of R1 069,66, plus interest and costs accrued from 2017/06/15.
Why from June and not February if my account was never terminated? Someone at vodacom is committing *****.
Fix your mistake and send me the paid-up letter!
