So much for loyalty - Goodbye Vodacom

I have been with Vodacom for most of my adult life, and have been a loyal customer. My contract has been due for upgrade since 2014, and I hadn't upgraded (despite not upgrading for a new device the sim was still in use and was paid for every month. On Friday, 28 April 2017 I decided to go to the iStore at Vodacom World in Midrand to upgrade. Yes, all I was there to do was upgrade on my existing plan to get a new device that I could have gotten 3 years ago. Rather embarrassingly I was told by the lady at the store that I have been 'declined' and that I need to contact Vodacom. Vodacom did not offer the iStore a valid reason for me being declined. I contacted Vodacom and was shoved around from one department to the next. Over that weekend I literally spent hours on the phone with them, and nobody could tell me why I was denied an upgrade. Eventually a lady by the name of Mary told me that I should not have been declined my upgrade, and that the matter will be resolved on Tuesday, 2 May. When I called in on 2 May I was told that a decision was taken to decline my upgrade request. Till this day I have not been given a valid reason for this. Mary even promised to credit my account with 1GB of data for the inconvenience, and even this never happened. This Vodacom sim of mine has existed since 2002, so I have been a loyal customer for 15 years. I even went as far as buying Vodacom shares. Such has been my loyalty. But not anymore. Within the next month I will have my number ported to Telkom, where I hope my loyalty will be appreciated. Goodbye Vodacom. You have just lost a very loyal customer. I am indeed very disappointed.
