So disappointed in Vodacom - Shocking service

I have 2 contracts with Vodacom, one for a tablet data deal and another for my phone. When I called to ask about the end of my phone contract and cancelling it, for some reason the agent decided to cancel my data contract. When I realised my data contract had been incorrectly cancelled I called Vodacom to find out what the problem was and get it reinstated. You would think that would be easy right? Well you would be wrong. I have now been having this battle for a month and still no luck.

So I spoke to a guy called Oupa in Midrand retentions department on 11.01 who told me it would be done within 3 days. That was 2 weeks ago. When I try and call him to find out what is happeining I am on the line for 30 minutes waiting. Eventually after speaking to 3 different people I get to speak to him. Then guess what they tell me? My status on my account is pre-legal!!! When I ask why they don't know. So then I am told to call the legal department who tells me that is my status because when my account was cancelled there was an outstanding amount and I owe that. I mean they debit my account! And apparently that amount is being debited today but they just put that status there 'in case'!! I mean seriously? How do these people do business?

So as far as I am concerned they are in contravention of the CPA and the NCA and now I am going to report them to the NCC. I have no other choice because this customer disservice is shocking.

Reviewer Update

I have still never heard from Vodacom and I am going to continue posting a negative review about you until I do. Also note, I train thousands of people a year in the financial sector and I will be telling all of them this story as an example of breach of law and poor customer service.
