Sneeky Vodacom contract clause!
I entered into a 24 month data contract with Vodacom. That contract expired in May this year. They have a very devious clause in their contract which places the onus on the consumer to cancel the contract in writing when it is due to expire. I cannot recall receiving notification that the contract is due to expire and to remind me that I need to cancel the contract otherwise the contract reverts into a monthly contract. My second problem is that I cancelled the contract yesterday but because it was not done within 20 business days, I will be debited another month for a product I don't even use anymore. So Vodacom debited me 27 installments for a 24 month contract.
I will be lodging a complaint with ICASA as I believe Vodacom's contract is unfair. Trying to obtain a number for the complaints department is nearly impossible and I was advised that there is only an email address available. Really? Vodacom? Only an email?
I sent an email to the address provided and guess what? I did not receive any confirmation that my email was received.
Please contact me urgently to resolve my complaint!
