Sly, sly, sly - watch out for this Vodacom stunt

I went to the Vodacom data store in Tygervalley after receiving sms's from Vodacom that I could get an upgrade.

The salesperson gave me a few choices, and I picked one (A30S). When it was time to pay, he said that he'd 'forgotten' about the R150 upgrade fee - I wonder how many times a day they 'forget'.

A few weeks after the deal, I started suspecting that the phone was in fact not an upgrade, but rather a downgrade. This was confirmed by a Vodacom consultant in Canal Walk as well as the manager of the Tygervalley VC data store.

However, they refuse to allow me to do an ACTUAL upgrade to a higher-spec phone, simply saying that I chose that particular phone, and signed a contract. THey simply choose to ignore the fact that the salesperson die not give me all the information to make an informed choice.

I am willing to enter into a more expensive contract (i.e. I'm not expecting them to give me a higher spec phone for the same amount) - still they say no.

I have now spoken to the manager of the store (who confirmed that going from a S-series to an A-series is a downgrade) and Tremaine on *** who also said they won't do anything about it.

That is no way to treat ANY client, never mind one that's been a loyal (and paying) customer for going on 10 years (who wants to give them MORE money!)
