Simply Poor Service

Good day Seems like poor service is the order of the day with Vodacom lately.

1. Bought a car-charger for my BRAND NEW phone at the Vodashop, (Irene Mall) and the charger promptly damaged the phone, by overheating the phone and causing a failure of the charging capability. 2. Complained at the shop and was promptly told by the young man assisting me that it was my problem, and Vodacom doesn't accept any responsibility. 3. Finally got him to book the phone in for a repair and he said that it should be back by the Monday - 7 days later... 4. No notification of the phone being ready, so 10 days later, I queried where the phone was - Not back from the repair shop yet. 5. Still no notification of the phone being ready, so 18 days later, i queried again - Told it can take up to FOUR - 4 ---- 4 WEEKS, What??? yes Weeks.

BTW - Points 1, 2 & 3 all the same individual.

Oh and I also sent an email to Vodacom ********** complaining about the original problem and no-one has bothered to answer my mail from 2 weeks ago. Probably will have to load that complaint on this web-site as well

Just to give you feedback on the latest regarding my phone problem. In the past 4 weeks I have not received any feedback from the store regarding progress on my repair. Yesterday (28/9) afternoon I had to go to the Irene mall where the Vodacom shop (Irene Mall) is located. After inquiring the latest information regarding the phone, I was told that the phone HAS been collected and was at the "drivers" house. I then had to wait a further 45 minutes before the phone was delivered to the store. The item had been replaced with a replacement phone, so with that said, I am relieved that my problem is resolved and that I can now carry on as if I had received the item as new, for which I am most grateful, albeit a month without the use of the device. I am however VERY disappointed at the level of service received from the Irene Vodacom store, who obviously place profit above customer satisfaction. The dispatch date in the Exchange Note is 22 September 2107, indicating that matter had been resolved a week ago, but there was NO urgency on the part of the store to either advise me or ensure that I got the phone. If I had not gone in to the store myself, there is a good chance I would have waited another week or two. This is rather disappointing as Vodacom boast about being the best service provider in the RSA. Definitely not the case here. So with that said, I am grateful that the problem has been resolved, disappointed that Vodacom have created a situation where I had doubted the good name of Sony, and further annoyed that profit triumphs over the needs of the consumer.
