Sim swop hell.
My mothers phone was ******. Her contract is in her ex husbands name. He emailed customer care to say the phone was ****** and she needed to do a sim swop. He emailed a letter of consent as he is in SWAZILAND and she is in JHB. So now my mother who is in her 70s is being sent back and forth to try sort her number out. Her ex husband has said he cannot drive 250kms to do a sim swop. The unwillingness to help is actually disgusting. I will provide any reference numbers needed so Vodacom can actually follow up. She desperately needs her number back. If you can't or won't help an old lady then say so. It's always being passed on to someone else. Honestly it's unacceptable. It's bad enough that her phone was ****** in a *******. She bought a sim as was suggested. It cannot be passed back and forth. She doesn't even know how to contact anyone via phone as all her numbers were on her phone.
So now again my mother is sitting without a phone number which she urgently needs. I gave the reference number that her ex husband gave her from his correspondence with Vodacom. What else do you expect her to do? Do you expect her ex husband to drive 250kms to sort out her sim card? Is Vodacom going to pay for his day off work and pay for his petrol etc? She can't even call him or anyone without her number. This is just getting ridiculous now.
