SIM swap or cancel new contract - do your jobs

have spoken to countless people at Vodacom during the past week, and I keep getting different answers.

Gugu Una, an online consultant, two days ago, said that she would cancel my contract. She didn't.

The latest story, a week later, is that I should buy a new sim (sim delivered with the phone is not recognised by Vodacom - it's their sim), and I can do a sim swap. I just bought the new sim, and a new consultant now says a swap is not possible. I have spoken to at least 30 Vodacom staff, each with a different answer. If I can't keep my number then I want to cancel my contract. That department cuts my call as they don't help prepaid customers, so I can't even speak to someone.

However, the first debit order was deducted last week, at least that's one thing they know how to do.

Vodacom staff seem to be experts in knowing what they can't / don't want to do, not their jobs. I was at the Canal Walk store and one consultant made a derogatory remark about me to Ashley Adams (a consultant who I e-mailed yesterday to ask for assistance, and naturally, got ignored - at least he sorted my RICA out that Vodacom messed up), and went to help the customer who was next in line behind me.

A year ago, they told me that I had to use my number for a router, so I already changed my number as I didn't feel like putting up with incompetence. I don't want to change my number again.

I WANT MY NEW CONTRACT CANCELLED IF I CAN'T DO A SIM SWAP AND RETAIN MY NUMBER.

Pathetic service.

I wasn't contacted by a consultant today, but thank you for sorting this out. I'm assuming that this will be at no charge to myself (we can sort out the pro-rated debit amount that was already deducted last week). I will await further updates from the courier as it regards collecting the device and SIM.
