******* SIM swap

I purchased a SIM card at Vodacom Bayside Mall on 28 January 2024. I received an SMS stating my new number is ***. On 7 March 2024 (39 days later), I received a call from a person that I do not know, stating that I have his number and he is going to do a SIM swap to get his number back. I hung up the call. I then received an SMS from Vodacom stating that a SIM swap had been requested on my number. I called Vodacom immediately (07:59am) and spoke to a call centre agent for 8 minutes. She confirmed that she had blocked the requested SIM swap. However, last week the SIM swap took place. I called Vodacom again on 12 March 2024 and the call centre agent instructed me to get a new SIM card and that he would assist me in getting the number back. I bought a new SIM at Vodacom Brooklyn Mall. The call centre agent then assisted me in setting up the SIM and said I would have my number back within 3 to 24 hours. The SIM swap did not take place. How can a SIM swap be requested on my number without me approving the request? Do Vodacom staff members assist ********s in gaining access to numbers because this is exactly what happened. I was assured the SIM swap request was cancelled.
