Sim only Contract ..... Why would anybody sign a 24 Month contract,

I signed a contract for a Vodacom package with Autopage for my daughter that I understood was simply authorizing Autopage to debit my account for the convenience of regular airtime.

Now that Autopage customers have been migrated I find that I am tied into a 24 Month Contract.

This is a *******; Why would I sign a 24 Month Contract when I do not get a device.?

Hiding behind Autopage is not acceptable.

People like me take sim only Topup plans for two reasons:

1. Budgetary Control

2. Because they do not want to be locked in to long contracts.

is Vodacom going to charge me early termination fees?

On what basis is Vodacom going to calculate this as I have never taken a device?

Vodacom contacted me and agreed to change price plan to prepaid wef 01/09/2016.

i am happy about this.

However, I would urge all Network Operators to ensure that their customers are aware that they are signing a term contract whenever they sign or request a sim only deal. In my view customers should be given the option of 6 months or 12 months in such cases.

Well done Vodacom.
