SIM card ***** and identity theft

So I had a Vodacom number that I’ve owned for more than 10 years and later in the years I added Telkom. My phone with the Vodacom SIM card died. While waiting to get it fixed someone managed to hack or let me say ***** my number. I find out when I tried to buy airtime so I can use the SIM card and it game me an error. I’ve been trying to recover my number because I used it in most of my things and that’s where more people especially family, work and more can be able to reach me. However now I’m not able to because someone has been using my number and It can’t even pick the people I called with my phone. I’ve been using WhatsApp. My worry is how did the people who stole my number access my number and the person is busy borrowing money from people that I know nothing about. I’m very disappointed of Vodacom especially that I can’t do a sim swap and I need my number before more damage is done. Those who have my Telkom number are calling me for their money back. I’m terrified because I don’t even know how many people I will be owing by the end of the month. Can you please help me get my number back. I’m shocked by the provinces I got when I had to do sim swap because I live in none of them. I live in Gauteng and Mpumalanga being my home but none of the two were my options at least. Can I have my number back before more damage. I’m very disappointed at the service though. I trusted Vodacom to be safer than all but I guess I was wrong.
