Should have never signed up for Vodacom's laptop deal
I was telephonically contacted by a Vodacom agent to sell me a laptop deal which I signed up for. After the laptop arrived I had a problem with the billing and advised that I would not use or setup the laptop until the issue was resolved. Eventually after the issue was resolved (very unprofessionally might I add) I attempted to setup the laptop.
I came to realize that this was not a very good laptop, it was very slow to start up and opening up any applications were also very slow, my current laptop which is about 6 years old is much faster than this one. Not only was the laptop slow, but the sales person failed to advise me that the laptop does not come with a Microsoft Windows package (I am a pensioner and this means that over and above the monthly contract payment, I now also have to buy an annual MS package amounting to R900.00 per annum).
I then proceeded to lodge a complaint with Vodacom advising them of my situation and how unhappy I was with the misleading information I was given and requested to be released of my contract as I would never had signed up for this in the first place had I been given the correct information. I received an automated reply the following day stating that I would hear back from the within 48 hours, it has been over 2 weeks and still no response.
