Shockingly poor service at its very best!

On the 20th of January I went to Vodacom Cresta and took out two 2G data contracts for 2 iPads I bought for myself and my daughter. I soon realised that an iPad was not the device of choice for me and donated the iPad to my son in law. On the 25th of January I went to Cresta Vodacom looking for a Samsung product similar to the iPad Mini that I had purchased previously. With my limited knowledge I took out a contract (R189 per month) for a Samsung device. Eric was the consultant who assisted me. That very first night when I got home and switched it on I discovered that the camera was faulty. I contacted the store the following day and returned the device on the Friday. Sakile assisted me. The store tested the device and agreed that it was faulty. I was told that it will be sent back to the supplier and that I’ll have to wait for confirmation from them that it was actually faulty before they could replace it. On the Saturday I went to the Samsung shop at Clearwater Mall and found a suitable device that ticked all the boxes I needed. I contacted Vodacom Cresta to enquire about the availability of the Samsung Tab S device on contract and they rep**** negative. On the Sunday I contacted Vodacom Cresta again and spoke to Eric. I informed him about my wishes to cancel my contract (as this is my right within 7 days after purchase) and he confirmed this. He said that he will inform his manager, but they will have to wait for confirmation that the device was faulty. They promised however, to cancel my contract and let me know as soon as they received confirmation of the cancellation. I also spoke to the manager on the Tuesday, he even explained to me that the debit order will go through at the end of January but I should not worry, as it would be rectified at the end of February. I first suggested that they change this contract to a 2G data contract (R109 per month). In the beginning of March I contacted the Vodacom Call Centre to confirm that this contract was now changed to a 2G data contract and was told that the contract was not changed or cancelled as yet. I contacted Cresta again, this time I spoke to Eric and he promised that he would take it up with the manager and it will now be finalised once and for all. I also requested them to now cancel this contract and that I was no longer interested in the Data contract as I have 2 other 2G data contracts that I can use – never to hear from them again. By the way, the manager is never available, he is either at a conference, on a course or out for something else, but never available. Lots of promises, but never a returned call. In the beginning of April I again contacted the Vodacom Call Centre to enquire as to whether the contract was now cancelled, but it was still active. On Friday the 8th of April, I managed to speak to the Manager at Cresta, but only after threatening them with further action if he does not return my call. This was the only time he returned any of my calls. He promised to get back to me after investigating the whole matter and then returned my call in the afternoon and suggested that I come into the store asap, as we will have to discuss this whole matter urgently. I made an appointment to see him personally the next morning - Saturday morning at 9 o’clock as soon as the store opens. At 9 o’clock Saturday morning I was at the store, and guess what, no manager there, it was his day off! Eventually, Lucky, the assistant manager came to my assistance and explained to me that the manager had to attend to an urgent pest control problem at his and will not be in that day. He sat down with me and explained all my Simcards to me, but still could only promise me that he would report this matter to the manager as he is the only one who would be able to action the cancellation of the contract. He also confirmed with Eric that I had returned the device in January, which I found strange. He promised me that the manager would contact me during the next week. On Monday the 11th of April I contacted Cresta again, the manager not available as always and the switchboard assistant laughing about my frustration. Eventually, I spoke to Lucky after holding the line for quite a while. He said the contract would be cancelled by Friday, the 15th of April. I contacted the Vodacom Call Centre again on the 20th of April to confirm that the cancellation was confirmed and was assisted by a person by the name of Asher, who should receive a golden star for his good manners and kind assistance. NO CANCELLATION on the system as yet. He promised me that he will also try to get hold of the relevant people at Vodacom Cresta and sort the matter out and promised to phone me again that same day to give me feedback. On the morning of the 20th of April I went to Vodacom in Sunninghill and was assisted by a very kind lady. As I was leaving the store, the Vodacom Call Centre agent, Asher contacted me to find out whether anybody at Vodacom Cresta had contacted me, as they promised him that they would contact me the previos day. NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME UNTILL THIS VERY MOMENT! As you can imagine, I have had enough to say the least. This is poor service at its absolute best! I hope that I can get an answer from you now Vodacom, and that this contract will be cancelled. It is not the financial aspect, but the principle of the matter. I am still paying for something I have not received! I have been a longstanding customer of Vodacom (20 years plus!), view my profile and see for yourself. I don’t believe any customer deserves poor service like this! I will be terminating both my contracts (which are due for renewal in May 2016 and August 2016) if I do not receive a response today.
