Shocking Service Vodacom Bayside
I write to you today to share the shocking and unprofessional service I recently received from Vodacom situated at Bayside Mall Tableview Cape Town. I was experiencing a problem with my mobile phone, as a foreign app kept popping up each time I tried to use Google chrome. I decided to go to my service provider where I have my contract to seek assistance from them. On entering their premises it was not busy and two of their staff members were chatting among st themselves at the entrance. I approached the one lady and and told her about the problem I was having and demonstrated on my phone the problem area. Without even looking at the phone or taking it off me she immediately told me they would need to charge me a fee for looking at the problem. I was not at all happy with this response and requested to see the manager, I was told the manager was busy and unavailable at which stage the second staff member stepped forward to tell me she was second in charge and how could she help me. I again explained the problem I was experiencing with my phone only to be told by the second lady (2nd in charge) that there would be a fee to look at my phone. I then insisted on seeing manager and was told to wait, after a 10 minute wait and no sight of the manager I walked out of Vodacom and found their competitor MTN around the corner in the same Mall. Oh goodness me! what a wonderful experience, I was welcomed in with a big smile from one of their consultants, I explained to that consultant the problem with my phone he took my phone off me had a look, pushed a few buttons (all of 3 minutes) and handed my phone back with problem solved. WELL DONE MTN AND CONGRATULATIONS, having staff who are pleasant and helpful to your clients or potential clients is the key to a successful business. I then went back to Vodacom to be told the manager was still busy and could not see me. I then asked for an email address for the franchise holder of that store a Mr Rob du Preez and was told by his staff member that is private and not available to the customers. On getting home I drafted a email to Vodacom SA (customer service) I received an automated response to acknowledge the mail had reached them, this was several days ago and yet I have heard nothing back from Vodacom. I would have thought that in todays business large companies would care about their product and their customer satisfaction and the way their staff treat their clients, all together very sad state of affairs. Later this year my contract with Vodacom will be coming up for renewal, maybe they would like to tell me why I should not be changing to one of their competitors , I might add that I have been a Vodacom customer for longer then I can remember. A very disappointed Vodacom customer
