Shocking service received. 21 days 66 calls. No joy.
on 1 May 2018 we went into Vodacom 4u Cradlestone Mall, to port my husband's number (an 072 number) from his name to mine and then to open a contract on said number. We were told that despite efforts this is not possible as it is a public holiday. I explained that we do need a phone. They suggested taking out a contract on another number. Out of desperation I did this. The new number (an 066 number) was never activated for some unknown reason. Two days later the new 066 number still had not been activated. I received an sms from Vodacom saying they have successfully moved my husband's 072 number to my name. I called Vodacom to find out that I now had two new numbers and two new contracts. I called the store explained that this is a problem and should not happen as I cannot pay for both and do not need two contracts. The man at the store was rude and unhelpful. I called back, spoke to his manager and we concluded together that the best plan would be to cancel the new contract (066) and keep my husband's ported 072 number do an upgrade. They asked me to keep the handset (they obviously did not want to unbox a second handset) and said they would transfer the handset from the cancelled 066 number to my 072 number and open the contract on the 072 number. The 066 number was cancelled within 7 days (even though I have just the minute been told by Patricia Kommando) that there will be a charge on my account for this number which was never even used for one second.) The manager at the store, Callie then informed me that due to a technical glitch the 072 number was not correctly ported to my name./account and was now showing on both my name and my husband's name. As a result he could not upgrade it. This was confirmed by Vodacom at 111 several times. I even got a copy of an internal email with the following message: Still waiting for feedback under TAS ********** 15120 from the developers. Will update feedback on the system once received. Kind regards.Kate Sakala, ISD Service Analyst, Vodacom Corporate Park. After the 066 number was cancelled the handset I had kept was added to my account as a prepaid handset which meant that my account limit was reached and all my lines soft-locked. We have not been able to make any phone calls for over two weeks and have had to use prepaid sim cards and add airtime to them , which has been extremely costly. Not to mention the time wasted on phone calls to Vodacomm which includes a call of one hour and 34 minutes on the 14th of May. and two of just under an hour today 21 May. After waiting for over a week for the 072 number "to be manually added back to the network" this was eventually done and I received a call on 16 May that The upgrade can now be processed. I went to the store and the upgrade documents were signed for the handset received on 1 May. The next day I called to check if all is in order and I was informed that the 072 number still displays on both my name and my husbands name. that there will be a debit order of over R8000.00 this month. (Subscription for the 066 number which was never used and cancelled within the 7 day cooling off period) (Subscription for my old 082 number which has been softlocked and unusable for the past more than two weeks) (and subscription for the 072 number- which still does not work) (as well as a hefty R 4000.00 installment for the handset which is supposedly on a Red Classic contract on the 072 number.
Between 111 and the Vodacom 4u's store number, I have now made 66 phone calls. visited the store 6 times and waited 21 days for my problem to be sorted out.
My query escalation numbers include: 1- ********** ********** 1- ********** ********** 1- ********** ********** and ********** incident number received from the store.
What am I supposed to do to get some service from Vodacom????
