Shocking service

On 1 August I requested a debit order date change. Previously I had paid for my account at month end but requested that my debit order date be amended to the 7th of the month. This was done. On 7 September I then received an sms saying that my account was in arrears. I immediately phoned into the Vodacom "customer care" and after a 20m long conversation, I was told that the debit order would do through that evening for my normal debit order amount. At 6am the next morning I get an sms informing me that double my debit order was taken from my account. I immediately phoned customer care and an extremely helpful gentleman promised me that he would call me back when the accounts department opened at 8am. He phoned me back immediately at 8am but that was where the service ended. I ended having to speak to a supervisor who was extremely rude and told me that Vodacom's debits were correct. I then asked to speak to someone senior and was cut off. I then phoned back and was told that no supervisors were available and that someone would call me back within the hour (it was now 8:30). Obviously no one called me back so I ended up contacting Sylvia on the online chat. She was extremely helpful and explained that my account was in credit and my next debit on 7 October would be my account less the excess debit order. How can different people at the same company give me so much wrong information and how can Vodacom just debit my account like that? Absolutely shocking.
