This is the first time in 18 years having been a loyal Vodacom customer, that I can honestly say their service has become questionable. I called Vodacom to have my contract upgraded last Friday 29th April, after the online request for them to call me 4 days ago didn't work. Spoke to Prishen at the online department who diligently processed the application and confirmed I would get an sms within the hour confirming the upgrade for my GOLD Sony Xperia Z5. (there is no gold available at Vodacom!!, but he asked what colour would like, and confirmed GOLD is available.) By close of business I still hadn't received the sms confirmation, so I had to call back. Customer service cuts you off every time because none of the options are the ones you need. About 15 calls later, and hours of being on hold, I finally get through to upgrades, who says the application was not processed because online can only process, but cannot activate, and they have no idea what happened. The request didn't get sent to the processing department. So we had to start from scratch with the lovely consultant Twarelo. Received the confirmation of upgrade by email on Friday, and ofcourse expected the phone to be delivered by Tuesday or Wednesday (as Monday was a holiday - and stock is available). Immediately thereafter, I was then unable to use any data or sms function, and my outgoing calls were restricted because I had reached my call limit!!! They had transferred my line to prepaid by mistake. Spoke to a team leader Darryl who said he was going to call me by 6th May to advise when the phone would be delivered, because the key code wasn't generated which meant the phone cannot be delivered, as the courier had not received such notification. As a kind courtesy after realizing there is a problem with my line, they sent me 500MG free data (as if that will help me to make a call). Not having any luck, and after many promised of Vodacom telling me their team leaders were going to call me (and Darryl did not call back yet ), I decided to go into a store to speak to a consultant. She called her trade partner from the store, and they requested that she needs to email them the quote originally sent for the upgrade to prove that we did not cancel the line, and they would then re-instate the contract. A day later and a week after trying to upgrade, still no feedback. Still not able to make any calls because I have reached my call limit, and ofcourse Vodacom threatens to charge of out bundle rates if customers do not upgrade on time. The inconvenience at this level is unacceptable. Apparently they are changing systems internally, and there are many issues with other customers as well. If Vodacom had not mastered their new internal system, they should not use us as the guinea ***s. This is pathetic service, and they are just too scared to acknowledge they have *****ed it up. I'm beginning to seriously question my choice of mobile service provider.

Best regards,
One month after receiving the hand set, i still have not received the screen guard, so the phone is still unused.
The 1GB free data per month that was promised has not yet been activated, and i was billed for the contract for May when it was not used. and ofcourse, they are still waiting for a manager to sign off. I am not sure what exactly, but they are still waiting.
