Shocking experience having a contract offer and then retracted in 30 minutes after agreeing, terrible service and I was also overcharged three times my normal fees last month on my bill!Seriously thinking about cancelling my contract with Vodacom!
I have been with Vodacom for over 7 years. My recent contract came to an end and without notification, I was charged triple my normal monthly fees for this past month. This was supposedly after speaking to an agent because my contract automatically went into a upgrade/new agreement and this was done without my permission. To add insult to injury, I was finally informed I would be credited for this unfair and without my permission and told I can either upgrade to a different package or cancel. Being upset as loyal customer, I went two other providers (Telkom & MTN) and have been offered superb contracts with substantial data and minutes if I switchover which are more competitive than what I am currently on with Vodacom. I being a loyal customer, contacted the Vodacom upgrades department to engage them and tell them after this terrible experience and the lack of a good package offer I am considering switching to one of the other providers for a better deal. The Vodacom retention agent was very persistent and informed me she could offer me a competitive package as they would not want to lose me as their client. She offered me a package with data and minutes, less data than before which I took into consideration and understanding. They informed me I could not keep my current package I am on as it is a "legacy" deal. To avoid the hassle and in good faith I agreed on the offer the agent gave me after being on the phone and hold for over an hour! We went through the Ts & Cs and confirmed my contract upgrade/renewal for 24 months. This also after being on the phone with the agent for over 1 hour 15 minutes and being place on hold for 20 minutes or longer! I was informed this agreed change in 24 month contract was in order and would commence from next month. 30 minutes later to my shock and discontent, the agent called back to inform me that the system would not allow them to process the contract with the data and the minutes that we agreed on. The call was recorded and the agent confirmed multiple times that I would receive 1000 voice minutes at 10 GBs of data. There is proof of all this. She then tries to tell me that they cant proceed with this offer and they can only offer me other packages which are substantially higher than what was agreed in some cases with less data or minutes. I am very upset and stressed about this whole situation as month end is approaching and I did not want a more expensive package nor be given a offer and then be told minutes later that the offer is retracted due to their technical issues or providing of false information to me as a customer. I was told by the agent and her supervisor (Caitlin) they are trying to work on a alternative package as they cant proceed with giving me the offer we agreed. They said they would also consider a deal match with similar offers to the other providers I am considering switching to. I am not certain when they will get back to me and also not sure I want to continue on with Vodacom if I will be treated like this, its really not acceptable. I hope Vodacom will be in contact with me to rectify this blunder and mistake they have made. I am strongly considering cancelling my contract immediately and will also express my disgruntled experience within my large personal and social media network. I have been a long standing loyal customer to Vodacom in the higher tier of phone contracts with them over the past 7+ years and deserve much better service than this. I am best reached via my cell phone, and can give further information on this shocking experience. I hope this matter will be rectified ASAP!
