SHOCKING & DISAPPOINTED - Account cannot be reactivated until payments have been made

In March 2019, I upgraded as per usual. A few days after my upgrade on a Friday afternoon @ around 15:00pm, I tried to make a phone call, whereby I got a Voice Message stating that my Account has been suspended. When I phoned the Call Centre and asked as to what the reason was, I was advised that I owe them "thousands" as my account is in arrears, and was never paid for the past 4 years.... "My question was" - How does VODACOM do business & account payments. Is normal process not that if you do not get payment in a month or two you start to follow process of contacting the person and enquire.... Please take note that in the past 4 years I have never received any statements via post, email etc. (Also my work pays a portion of my account - so split billing should be in place) Never have I received any phone calls, sms's or communication stating that I owe any money - Where I have upgraded twice already. After this happened I escalated the matter with our company representative, and my account was reinstated the Monday again, stating that this is under investigation. On the morning of 26 April 2019, almost a month later I noticed that Vodacom deducted the FULL outstanding amount from my bank. (Note that there is not even that much money available). I have also never authorised them to take the full amount as I am still under the impression that it is pending investigation. Obviously I contacted my bank and reversed this payment. When I followed-up on this I was told that my services will once again be suspended. I refused to pay and requested the following from Vodacom: Proof of statement send; Proof of any communication to me via any method in the form of telephone calls, post, email etc. Also Proof that prior to this deduction that they have tried to debit me. NOTHING could be provided. The Senior Credit Controller who contacted me via email, said he can Credit 2015 to 2017, and then I could make payment arrangements for the outstanding balance. When I gave him the amount that I am willing to pay additional, he said that he could not accept this as I have to pay this in 4 installments. I have asked him as to why am I being punished for a Vodacom error/fault and he just kept stating that I need to pay, whereby I am refusing now. Everything from my side (Original Documents & Contract completed) was completed correctly, not my liability if Vodacom can't simply capture details correctly or have the correct details and not deducting via Debit order as they should've from the start, or that they have had some system errors. Please take note that once again my service has been suspended. I am on Standby and have Clients who tries to phone me. I had to get a Pre-Paid number for now to be reachable. I need some urgent attention to this matter and more in-depth investigation as I really do not know what to do anymore. I have always been a loyal Vodacom customer and supporter, and this is the type of service I am receiving. All documents can be provided if needed
