Shocking customer service
On 26 Jan 2022 I noticed a significant drop in line speed. Speed tests taken at the time were all below 1 mbps and this morning the download speed is 0,62 mbps. I received a factually untrue email response to SR*** which stated that I have exceeded the monthly fair usage policy.
I have checked online and note that the FUP limit for my line speed has been REMOVED from the online policy. I called Vodacom and was eventually advised that the FUP limit is 300 GB. The consultant also stated that Vodacom was "doing away" with the tyoe of uncapped subscription that i have had for many years. My usage currently is not even at 50 % of the monthly FUP limit quoted by the agents, yet I have been throttled to 2 mbps,??. Is this a ploy by Vodacom to get rid of all legacy line subscribers. Vodacom has gleefully sold me an uncapped subscription only now to declare that there is no such thing as uncapped and that they are throttling my line speed due to alleged over usage.
I have had no response despite promises to do so promptly by Andiswa and Ramiel at Vodacom. The call centre is totally ineffective. Escalation means nothing , call back promises are blatantly ignored and I have spent an extraordinarily long time on the phone, just tying to establish what the FUP data limit is for my line speed.
I have exhausted the normal problem solving route and hope that this can be resolved on HelloPeter. Surely the conversation of the past few days have been recorded. Can someone in authority listen to my calls and advise why I am throttled despite usage being at less than 50 % of the data limit? Has anyone experienced this issue please.
