I have been a loyal contract customer of Vodacom for over ten years. TEN YEARS. Imagine how much money they have received from my custom over that period. Yes, there are plenty of cheaper providers out there, but Im pretty happy to pay the extra few Rands for data and airtime because I enjoy the service as well as their customer service.
I was physically ATTACKED at the Pinelands branch last year by the cashier when I made payment, because she served a gentleman who was behind me in the queue and she did not take a liking to me telling her how a queue should work. She literally jumped over the counter to hit me, while her manager ran to the back office as not be bare witness. (A ****** scenario mind you) YET, Im still a customer.
Im Christian woman, I did not complain to head office, because I would have hated to see her lose her job. I got into my car, cried excessively due to shock and when I got home I simply said a prayer for her and moved along with my life. YET, Im still a customer.
In May 2018, I decided to take an upgrade as the contact term was coming to an end (Yes, this means that I will be a customer for another two years).
Im no fussy lady, I have been using a Samsung S4 since it was released till today, however it was my sons birthday coming up and I opted to take the Samsung S9+ in Lilac as a gift. I obviuosly took out insurance on the phone, this was done over the phone. A lovely lady called me and sold the insurance. I agreed to all the terms, without realisng that my sim card would need to be in the insured device. I must have heard, however it probably didnt sink in.
So, Im paying for the device, my airtime as well as insurance.
Insurance... Im insuring the device. The device that costs R18500. Why would I pay insurance for a sim card? That is free? Can you see any sense in that Vodacom?
I am using YOUR sim everyday, YOUR airtime everyday, Im YOUR customer for over 10 years.
My son, was ****** of the device.
I did the necesary and put in the claim, REJECTED. Because the contract sim was not in the device. Vodacom, how much sense does it make? Essentially, you would want me to give my son MY number then? Because thats the only way it would have been in the phone.
I have had the same number since I started with you, I run a business and its almost impossible for me to change my number, in order for me to give it to my son so that the device, NOT the sim can insured. Beside that, he also already has a number that he is pretty happy with.
It sickens me to the core, that over 10 years of supporting your business, NEVER complaining, being LOYAL, being ATTACKED and in an instance where I would expect the same kind of loyalty (and we all know you can afford it). So, I now have no option to pay for a phone that has been ******, because you have this ridiculous policy in place. Never have I ever made a claim before, so Im definately not a suspect of suspicien.
1 year and 6 months left and I still have to pay for a device that was ****** and was insured, but the bigsest telecomunications company in the country cannot assist a simple loyal customer.
