Shifting responcibilities

Judging by the amount of complaints logged on Hello Peter today already, no wonder that the Customer Care department can't resolve any complaints.

I cancelled a contract on 05 September 2017, received the Cancellation Quotation, completed it, paid by EFT, and sent everything as required by e-mail within an hour of the receipt of the quote. However, Vodacom did not cancel the agreement, and did the cost on the account just rack up, just as I had requested the cancellations department must not happen.

Then I had a huge debit order which I did not understand, and low and behold, found that Vodacom had just carried on as always, and billed me again at 3000% normal rate for data and other services on the "CANCELLED CONTRACT". So, seemingly inconvenient for them, they just kept on billing.

I had the debit order reversed and paid what I should have for my other contracts, and then started the frustrating bit, trying to get the account sorted out. Eventually, a credit was passed for R 120, that after incorrect billing of R 4,500 claiming usage. But that was the whole reason why the contract was cancelled, and whenever "USAGE" was needed, I had clearly indicated on the Cancellations Quotation that the account had to change to a PAY AS YOU GO account, I would just have topped up, and thus provided fair usage.

Seems that everyone that I had spoken to just conveniently wants to forget about the fact that the Contact was indeed cancelled on the 5th of September, and want to shift blame from one department to the other rather than owning up to the mistake that had caused all of this in the 1st instance.

I am now on the brink of also closing all of my other accounts with them as I am sure if they do not get this rectified, my services on all of my accounts will be suspended, but with them taking this don't care stance it seems to be the only course of action, and then wait on them to start the collections process, and take them on in that way.

Thanks for the generic response, have also received a rather generic looking e-mail stating "I have escalated the matter to our Back office and you should be contacted within 24-72 working hours.". This is not the 1st time that this matter have been to this mysterious "Back office", if only I can have someone with some back bone actually speak to me instead of shoving the matter off to this all important "Back office", perhaps then matters could be resolved.
