Sheer incompetence

Such a level of incompetence I never thought I'd experience- especially from a company which deems itself the cellular communication market leaders! In May 2016 I contacted Vodacom to change the bank details for my payment debit order. On 11 May 2016 I received an email (from Charne Petersen) acknowledging the change in bank details as well as confirmation that my bank details were updated with Vodacom. This I thought would be finalized - much to my surprise it wasn't!
At the end of June 2016 a double deduction for my vodacom subscription was made from my "old account". I queried this with vodacom, and after much deliberation vodacom agreed that it had indeed made an error - and a credit was made onto my vodacom account which would cover my June account. Again I thought this would be the end of my frustration - but clearly at vodacom simplicity and client satisfaction is not an objective.
In comes the end of July/beginning of August 2016 - I am the recipient of daily smses instructing me to pay my account that is in arrears. I initially thought it was a ****, so I ignored it. Eventually I called the vodacom billing department just to be told there that the confirmation I received from Charne Petersen on 11 May 2016 was not in fact an action executed by Vodacom. I eventually got out through to a team leader called Patricia Jack who asked me to email by proof of bank account to her - this I did on 5 May 2016. I however received no feedback from her, irrespective of my follow up email on 8 August 2016 in which I asked her if the matter was resolved. Since then I called Vodacom billing department on 11 August 2016 and was put through to a team leader who only identified herself as Robyn. Her lack of empathy and regard for my frustration makes me question her capabilities as a team leader - what example would she be to the members of her team? Her only attempt at resolution was telling me that she'd contact Patricia Jack to see if the matter has been resolved. After asking her to do more, she told me she'd request a call back from her manager - a certain Priscilla. Unfortunately this call back never occurred. Oh, and Robyn too asked me for my bank details (the new one) to enter on the system - see below where I explain how this clearly did NOT happen.
This brings me to tonight. I once again contacted Vodacom. I was sent from pillar to post (as usual!) - this time because Vodacom has me on some type of "new system" that only a select few can work with???? Come on Vodacom! Are you guys running a tuckshop??? Eventually I was put through to a Candice who was able to work with the new system (according to her). She mentioned to me that there was also a penalty fee on my account now! Please tell me in what alternate universe is it right for a client to be penalized for your incompetence???? She couldn't help me any further, so she forwarded my call to the "solutions department" where I spoke to Mandla Nhlapo. He told me he couldn't provide a solution to the penalty issue, but he'd try to escalate it. He too asked me for my new bank details to update the system on his side - let me not hold my breath as he will probably be the fifth person to enter a few digits on a computer screen with the aid of a compute keyboard and change my bank details. With regards to confirming if indeed the correct bank account would be debited so that the account could be deducted - he told me to call Vodacom again. I honestly won't! Someone who knows what the heck he/she is doing is welcome to contact me. I give you 2 solutions that I'd be happy with. 1 do your job and change the bank account details - it really isn't nuclear physics! Or 2: have the decency to terminate my account giving me freedom to enjoy the services of what I'm sure would be more competent network providers!

Maybe someone at Vodacom can do a miracle and fix this very complicated but simple matter!
My patience with Vodacom is paper thin right now!

Best regards,
Thanks for the generic response Vodacom. Please note that I am still waiting for the consultant to contact me. This is once again an example of shoddy client services
