Sevice dis-satisfaction

I am frustrated by the way Vodacom staff at the Watercrest Mall in Waterfall treat Vodacom customers.

I bought R 59.00 Data and R110.00 airtime at 09h04 on the 23rd September. I went to a coffee shop and loaded both recharge vouchers and then coupled my computer to the phone.

Within a minute or two, I got a notification that my data was spent and that my air time would be converted to data. The R196.00 disappeared within two minutes.

I returned to the mall at about 13h00 and the very helpful man pointed out that I was ******** of how things work. He explained to me that Windows 10 updates whenever it feels like it and that is what caused me to lose R169.00. Very expensive lesson. (about R10 000.00 per hour.) Tough.

I returned home and found that my computer has recorded 33Kb of down load at 09h23. The exact time I put my computer on in the coffee shop. I had a scheduled meeting at 09h30 so after the warning I shut my computer paid my bill and left.

I returned to the Vodacom shop this morning 24th September at 11h00 and presented the same man with the facts on a foolscap piece of paper and asked him to sign that he had received it from me and pass it on to Vodacom for their comment.

He refused to sign it after the "manager" told him not to. I explained quietly that all I was asking him to do was to sign receipt of the document. The "manager" was on the phone and maybe someone came back on the line so he walked away, ignoring me and both refusing to sign.

This is not the first run in I have had with Vodacom and the same man that had explained the problem to me the day before made a comment that other were less clued up with the goings on of cell phones.

The irony of this case is that I had connected via the phone less than 12 hours before and not had an issue.

At the price we pay for the service I do not expect to be treated in this manner. I realize that R169.00 in nothing in the eyes of Vodacom but its supper for a retired man for 10 days.
